Happy Birthday to Me :)

Mom dinner

It’s my birthday! *yay*  I don’t think I will ever not celebrate my birthday, no matter how old I get.  I mean, how great is it to celebrate another year that God has blessed you with?  Anyway, it isn’t just my birthday.  It is my brother and my sister’s birthday as well.  Yes, we are triplets.  And the photo above is us with our amazing mother.  I still don’t know how she did it!  So Happy Birthday to Kendra and Jordan!

Since it is my birthday and I like to get free stuff… here is a list of things you can get free on (or around) your birthday.  These are some of my favorite but there are TONS out there.  Some of the ones that you have to sign up for have to be done in advance.  But you can always sign up for them and receive it next year!

Birthday Rewards

A & W Restaurant gives you a free root beer float.

Arby’s sends you free birthday shake with purchase.

Auntie Anne’s sends you a coupon for BOGO.

Bare Essentials sends you a coupon for a free full sized item.

Dairy Queen sends you two coupons.  Free blizzard when you buy a medium and a coupon for a cake discount.

DSW sends you a $5 off coupon.

Great American Cookie sends you a coupon for a free cookie cake slice when you purchase a regular soda.  <– I tried to use it last year but was told the location did not accept coupons.  So I think they can choose to or choose not to.

IHOP sends you a coupon for a free Pancake stack.

Kendra Scott gives you 50% off one item.  You have to have signed up for their email club in the store when you purchased something to qualify.

Krispy Kreme sends you a coupon for a free doughnut of your choice and a free small coffee or fountain drink.

Maggiano’s Little Italy gives you a $10 coupon.

Sephora Beauty Insiders gives you a free birthday gift.

Sonic lets you choose a free treat.  I always choose the cream slush.

Weekend Recap [Just a little late]

A little more picture heavy than I normally do. Sorry about that! But I had a great weekend with my mom & sister in town. They flew in so I could find a dress!

Texas has beautiful sunrises and sunsets. And this was as I drove to get them at the airport.

We got lunch at Ms. P’s in Austin.  Sadly, we missed Jimmy Kimmel by not even a minute.  He was getting in his suv as we were getting out of ours.  Not cool.  I tweeted him to come back, but he didn’t.  Sad!

The chicken was amazing though.  The Truffle Mac & Cheese was missing some bread crumbs, so that was sad but the chicken and the cole slaw… delicious!

I found a dress!  I went found one at the third store we went to.  The best part was it was a sample and so I have it and don’t have to pay rush fees to get it in time for the wedding.  There is quite a bit of altering that has to take place, but I cannot wait to see it when it is all done!

I found this new dress this weekend too.  I had to go ahead and wear it.  I was also to wear my jean jacket that my dad gave me for Christmas and I have no idea why I am so in love with jean jackets.

We barely took ANY photos this weekend!  I don’t know why that happens but we took a selfie when I dropped them off at the airport.  I was so thankful they came to help me find a dress!

Yay for Fridays! Christmas Traditions

So today I decided I am going to give you my favorite Christmas traditions that we do/did when we were children.  Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year and my parents always made it really special and I have so many fond memories of when we were little.

1- New Pajamas on Christmas Eve.  I know a lot of people do/did this and it is still my favorite.  My mom still does it and I look forward to whatever pair of new pajamas I am going to get.  We have so many home videos from when we were little dancing around in our new pajamas to Christmas music.  It never got old.  I should bring the dance parties back.

2- Picture on the Stairs.  I don’t think we were the only ones who did this but every year before we could go downstairs on Christmas we had to sit and get our picture taken.  I love these because they are probably the worst pictures because we just got out of bed, but they have our new pajamas, our smiles and our excitement.  My mom has most of them framed in Christmas frames for the season.

3- Gingerbread House Making.  We made them randomly when we were younger but this is actually something my sister and I have started doing in more recent years.  We basically have a contest to see who can make the best gingerbread house.  I’d say I win pretty much every year.

4- Opening presents one at a time.  My parents always had a rule that we had to take turns.  Each person opens a present and while it may seem like it is putting the spotlight on one person it makes it more enjoyable and no one is rushing.  I would always do my stocking last as my mom finds the coolest things for stockings!

5- Advent Calendar.  When we were little we would take turns who got to put the next piece up on the Advent calendar.  I think my sister and I still fight over who gets to do it when we are at home.

Tennessee Trip [Post 1]

Mom and me

Mom’s birthday was on Sunday and I surprised her at dinner that Saturday night.  She had no idea I was coming and was shocked.  I was so excited to be able to surprise her like that.

fall colors

Fall weather is out and about in Tennessee.  It hasn’t reached Texas yet but I got to enjoy some fall while I was in Tennessee.

franklin theatre

PumpkinFest was Saturday in Franklin and I was so excited to get to go.  Mom and I went and walked around.  I was able to get some kettle corn (I love kettle corn!) and an amazing crepe from a food truck.  You have to get to PumpkinFest really early because it gets c.r.a.z.y crowded.

Pumpkin fest

Everyone gets their picture taken in front of this pumpkin statue thing.  Or at least it seems like it :)

kendra run

After PumpkinFest I headed to Nashville to see my sister finish her last leg of the Ragnar.  It is a multi-person relay that starts in Chattanooga and finishes in Nashville.  You have teams of 12 (or Ultra teams of 6) and each person runs 3 legs (or 6 if an ultra).  They start Friday morning and finish Saturday evening and Kendra ran 21.5 miles total.  One of her legs was at some crazy hour of 3 or 4 in the morning!

We took finishing photos with her.  You can’t see from the photo but I am making sure my arm is not touching her in the back, haha.  It was unseasonable warm!

Mom came too and we got a group photo.  I am pretty proud of her!
