Mother’s Day is the day after tomorrow, you may have gotten busy, forgotten, or just could not think of anything to do or give.  Well, it isn’t too late!

Handprint Towel

Handprint Towel from Poofy Cheeks.  I remember doing one of these when I was little with a poem.  What a simple and cute craft for mother’s and grandmother’s!  Anything with handprints on it is a great gift idea!

Mani/Pedi in a jar from Freebie Finding Mom.  What a cute, simple and inexpensive idea!  I would probably do this if I hadn’t already mailed my mom’s present!

Handmade Recipe Tea Towel from Sometime’s Homemade.  This would also be a great idea for a grandmother!

How about a pampering kit and include these DIY Bath Salts from Shaken Together Life?  Pretty sure I would make these for myself :)

And we haven’t seen etched glass in a while but it is still there and some really cute things could be done for mother’s day with it.  How about a vase?  Or a glass?  Here is a great tutorial at The Sweetest Occasion.

Happy Valentine’s Day

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

I pray that you and your  loved ones have an absolutely wonderful day.  In Matthew 22:37-40 we are told to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”   Love is about loving all people and that is what is hardest for us to do. None of us are perfect, we stumble and we fall but let us remember to love one another just as our Father loves us. It is the reason we are able to love others. If we can put love first, especially when it is hardest I bet we will see a change in all of us.

Romans 5:8 – “But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”

Happy New Year

The New Year always brings such excitement and fanfare and promises of a new year. It is a time when you can have a new start. The Bible has some wonderful verses to meditate on as we begin the New Year.

Ecclesiastes 3:1- “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”

Romans 8:18- “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”

Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Micah 7:7- “But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.”

Proverbs 16:9- “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.”

Proverbs 23:18- “There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”

2 Corinthians 5:17- “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Do you have any New Year Traditions that your family and friends participate in? I really don’t. I normally keep it very simple and watch the ball drop on television. I am wanting to do the idea that I have seen on Pinterest and I am not sure who the original poster was.

New Years Jar

What you do is starting on January 1st, everytime something good happens, or a memory you want to remember you write it down and place it in the jar.  Then the following New Years Eve you read all of the good memories you had.  I think it is an excellent way to end the year by reading all of the fun good memories from the previous year.
