Weekend Recap [New Hampshire]

Last weekend Josiah & I flew to New Hampshire to visit some of my family.  It was a short trip (Friday-Sunday) and I had some worries about weather delays but we made it and had a great time!  I only wish it had been longer!  It was much colder than it is here in Texas and so I don’t know if we were prepared for that!

Lunch

On Saturday we had lunch at Portsmouth Gas Light.  It was absolutely delicious!  I had chicken pot pie.  This started my weekend of lots of eating!  Wait, I lied.  I had Dunkin Donuts for breakfast!  And I may have also drank plenty of Moxie while I was there.  It has always been a drink my grandfather has drank and I just couldn’t help myself!

portsmouth

We then walked around downtown Portsmouth.  It is so crazy to think how old some of these buildings are when in Tennessee and Texas they are a lot newer!  Some of these ones go back to the 1600s!

We drove along the coast and even though it was absolutely freezing it was so incredibly beautiful.  And I love  the smell of the seacoast!

mimi and papa

I was so happy that we were able to spend time with family.  My grandparents are absolutely wonderful and I pray they can make it to the wedding!

cousins

I also got to spend time with my cousins and I cannot wait to see them in a few months!  For dinner we had chicken tenders which are famous from The Backroom.  They were delicious.  I may of had another can of Moxie and we had homemade angel cake for dessert.

crepes

On Sunday morning we had more eating at Chez Vachon.  Oh my goodness was that apple crepe absolutely amazing!  Apparently this restaurant is a big stop on presidential tours before elections and I see why!  You have to go at a certain time and we got there right in time as just a little bit after us there was a line out the door.  And with the cold, that must not have been fun!

baltimore

Then we had a four hour layover in Baltimore, MD and we did something I have never done.  We left the airport and went to the Pier!  We took a taxi from the airport and on the way back we took an Uber.  Really because we have never taken an Uber and thought it would be fun.  We still made it back to the airport in plenty of time to get through security and then for our four hour flight!  ugh!

We made it back to Texas after a whirlwind weekend to 75 degrees and sunshine.  :)  Now I feel like I need to eat really well this week to make up for this weekend!

It is almost wordless Wednesdays because we are having a blast in Breckinridge.  I need to do a recap about everything we have done since last Friday (it is a LOT!) but we made our final destination of Breckinridge and have gone out on the slopes.  We will be going out again today and I can’t wait :)

Some Boston Fun

My cousin got married in Boston last month and we had a blast. These pictures are in no particular order, and really just how they uploaded but I wanted to share some of them!  I choose all of the ones I had instagramed as it is something about those squares that is lots of fun.

On Sunday we went for a walk and ended up in the Little Italy area.  They were having a parade and this guy is covered in money.  I have absolutely no idea what they were doing!

The wedding reception was actually on a yacht that floated around the Boston Harbor.  It was absolutely beautiful as the sun was setting with some of the skyline in the background.

On Saturday we walked the Freedom Trail.  It is only 2.5 miles but it seems like it is at least 10!  I am not even kidding.  Then at the end we climbed the 294 steps up the Bunker Hill Monument.  The stairs got smaller the higher you got up and they should have water up there at the end, haha.

This was the view from our hotel room.  We stayed at the Boston Harbor Hotel.

We all had breakfast at the hotel the following morning

Family picture with the bride & groom.  Sadly, since it is instagram quite a few people were cut out on each side.

This church was on the Freedom Trail.  It was really cool as there were separate boxes that people sat in during worship.

My grandfather has always drank Moxie and it absolutely makes me think of him.  Of course I had to have some when I went to their house.

This was a stop along the Freedom Trail.  I think our feet were pretty tired at this point!

Mile High Club

No, not that kind of mile high club!!  I am actually blogging to you from my Delta flight from LAX to ATL!  I saw they had wi-fi available on the plane and I had to use it, really just to use it if for nothing else.  Although this does give me something to do although I’ll run out of battery before the flight is over

Currently, I have a man sitting next to me taking over the entire middle arm rest and moving too close into my space so I am leaning against the window.  Quite rude honestly and even my little nudging and pushing isn’t helping!  He is asleep, some people are just clueless :)

Speaking of sleep, it is currently 3:20 am in Sydney and I was up at 5:00am after going to bed at 3:30am, how’s that for sleep?  Yeah, not a lot!  I bet y’all can guess when I will be doing tomorrow!!  It is nice to be in USA airspace though and back home after being gone for so long!  My international flight was not fun at all!  1. too long (14 hours!), 2. not nice flight attendants (she got mad because I needed a bag of ice for my knee because of my knee surgery), 3. we got into LA at 5:15 and had to wait on the plane until 6:00am because that is when customs opened.  Once we got off the plane we spent 15 minutes actually walking to where customs was, maybe they could have let us off so we could have stretched?  Just a thought I (and everyone else) had.  Oh, and when you fly if you have a blanket make sure to carry it.  The lady got upset with me because after I had checked through security I put it in one of those reusable shopping bags, I was sick of carrying it.  She called it a carry-on, I did not.  It was a blanket and pillow!  😛  It has seemed as if a lot of the Delta employees have been on power trips this leg of my trip.

Then (and this was really kind of funny) while waiting to be able to get off the place at LAX there was a couple behind me.  The lady was basically trying to make out and kept going for his neck, pulling him down, etc.  totally inappropriate but kind of funny because she was so tired that she’d have her eyes closed, go to kiss him and he had moved or gotten up, haha.

This guy next to me is really cramping my personal space and it is bothering me.  But if my pushing doesn’t give him the hint I doubt waking him up and telling him will do anything.  Oh well, just ready to be home, so close!!
