Weekend Recap [New Hampshire]

Last weekend Josiah & I flew to New Hampshire to visit some of my family.  It was a short trip (Friday-Sunday) and I had some worries about weather delays but we made it and had a great time!  I only wish it had been longer!  It was much colder than it is here in Texas and so I don’t know if we were prepared for that!

Lunch

On Saturday we had lunch at Portsmouth Gas Light.  It was absolutely delicious!  I had chicken pot pie.  This started my weekend of lots of eating!  Wait, I lied.  I had Dunkin Donuts for breakfast!  And I may have also drank plenty of Moxie while I was there.  It has always been a drink my grandfather has drank and I just couldn’t help myself!

We then walked around downtown Portsmouth.  It is so crazy to think how old some of these buildings are when in Tennessee and Texas they are a lot newer!  Some of these ones go back to the 1600s!

We drove along the coast and even though it was absolutely freezing it was so incredibly beautiful.  And I love  the smell of the seacoast!

I was so happy that we were able to spend time with family.  My grandparents are absolutely wonderful and I pray they can make it to the wedding!

cousins

I also got to spend time with my cousins and I cannot wait to see them in a few months!  For dinner we had chicken tenders which are famous from The Backroom.  They were delicious.  I may of had another can of Moxie and we had homemade angel cake for dessert.

crepes

On Sunday morning we had more eating at Chez Vachon.  Oh my goodness was that apple crepe absolutely amazing!  Apparently this restaurant is a big stop on presidential tours before elections and I see why!  You have to go at a certain time and we got there right in time as just a little bit after us there was a line out the door.  And with the cold, that must not have been fun!

baltimore

Then we had a four hour layover in Baltimore, MD and we did something I have never done.  We left the airport and went to the Pier!  We took a taxi from the airport and on the way back we took an Uber.  Really because we have never taken an Uber and thought it would be fun.  We still made it back to the airport in plenty of time to get through security and then for our four hour flight!  ugh!

We made it back to Texas after a whirlwind weekend to 75 degrees and sunshine.  :)  Now I feel like I need to eat really well this week to make up for this weekend!
