Yay for Friday

Happy Friday!  I am so glad it is the weekend!  Did you have a good week?  Some weeks just seem to last longer than others, don’t they?

Mom & Kendra

1- My mom & sister are here!!!  We are going wedding dress shopping and I pray I find a dress!!  I shared one of just the three of us last week, so this one has my brother from Christmas.  :)

2- I have absolutely no idea what wedding dress style I want.  Seriously.  I watch enough Say Yes to the Dress but I really have no idea.  I know what I *think* I don’t like but I really want to keep my options open.  I don’t want to limit myself to what I think looks good on me when I really have absolutely no idea.

3- This.  Case closed.  Makes me feel a little better :) I think it also goes along with trying to plan a wedding for everyone else.  I will get blue in the face and I am just trying to plan the best day for me, Josiah and for the majority.  I do want everyone to have a great time, but I cannot please everyone :)

4- This week was absolutely beautiful.  Then it got colder.  But while the north east was having a snow storm, here in Texas we were in the 70’s.  It was absolutely amazing.

5- Always something to remember.  God knows what happened yesterday, what is happening today and what will happen tomorrow.  And with that, I can keep calm because He has it.  I may have days worse than others but there is always a blessing within each day.

Yay for Friday!

So, I posted this last night and for some reason it didn’t schedule or publish.  Makes me pretty confused!  But, oh well!  Happy Friday and Happy New Year!

1- We got engaged!!  He planned an amazing proposal and surprise and I just got the photos back and cannot wait to share them!  They turned out better than I could have imagined!

2- We are going to Colorado next week!  I can’t wait.  This photo is actually from March 2013, so we look a little different now but we are excited!  I am not looking forward to the drive!

3- This ornament my mom got me.  One of her friends painted it of Pancake and Willow.  How adorable are they?

5- My brother’s reaction to this gift from my mom.  He was so excited.  He ended up being less excited once he discovered we all got them :)

Yay for Friday

Yay for Friday!  Can you believe we have only one more Friday until Christmas?  Two more weekends before Christmas?  How does December just FLY by?  It happens every year but it just goes by so so fast.  I wish it would slow down a little bit!  I don’t have any theme to my Friday post this week but that is how it normally happens!

1- Have you heard of chapbooks? I hadn’t until yesterday and now I cannot wait for them to come in the mail.  You can get all of your instagram photos (well, you can have some of them excluded) into little $6 (free shipping!) books.  My mistake was not using someone’s referral code for your first book free!  No joke!  If you use my code: 9PETNKKA and you will receive your first book free.  You can set it up so they just send them to you when you reach 60 photos.  You can also make little books with any pictures you choose, $6 for the first 30 and then a little amount afterward.  I think it is around $12 shipped for 60 photos.  It is a little different from some of the other photo books because you can’t put multiple photos on a page or do a ton of editing but it can have your captions, locations (I turned these off) and more.  I’m super excited and will share when I get them!

2- I am *almost* done Christmas shopping.  I tend to get stressed out with finding the most perfect gift for everyone.  I like to start early and be done early.  I still have my dad to buy for (he is almost impossible) but other than that I am done.

3- I am absolutely loving the She Reads Truth Advent Study.  The She Reads Truth devotionals are amazing and I learn so much through them.  It is so important that we spend time daily with our Savior.  It is truly amazing how Christ’s birth is told throughout all of scripture.  It is amazing that He came as a baby, an innocent baby, to save all of us.  There just aren’t words.

4- These are my favorite slipper socks.  Since I work from home I wear them almost every day during the winter.  They are the shea socks from Bath & Body Works.  I have quite a few pairs but these are my newest ones.  How cute are the reindeer?  Sadly, the shea doesn’t last forever and the rubber things on the bottom can come off easily but I still love them!

5- Bath & Body Works 3 Wick Candles.  I have been burning these non-stop.  I should have purchased a replacement.  Actually, today in-stores only they are $8!  Sadly, I live an hour outside the city but I may make a trip in just for the candles!  My favorites are the Evergreen and the Twisted Peppermint.

So there you have it.  My five random, random things for this lovely (and tired!) Friday.  I hope everyone has a fabulous and restful weekend!

Yay For Fridays! Bible Verse Edition

I decided instead of picking a bunch of random things I was going to share my favorite, go-to Bible verses.  My problem is I have so many more favorites than 5.  I am sticking to 5 but it was hard!
1- Philippians 4:6- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
One of my all time favorite verses.  I tend to have a worry problem and I know that is against scripture.  So I mediate on the worry verses quite often to help me remember what God’s promises are and what He says about the issue.  I also love 1 Peter 5:7-“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

2- Colossians 3:17-Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

3- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18- “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
I try to keep this as my life verse.  It is so hard to remain happy and joyful in hard circumstances but this verse says it all, it is God’s will for us in Jesus and I need to do it.  I also think when we try to focus on being joyful no matter what the circumstances the light of Jesus can shine from even the darkest days and we can help lots of people that way.

4- Lamentations 3:22-23-Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
I love this verse.  No matter how much we feel we failed the day before, how much we think we screwed up, every day is a new day.  It is a fresh start and we don’t have to let yesterday affect today.

5- Isaiah 40:31-But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Another one of my life verses.  God’s time isn’t our time and while it is a hard reminder He has it all figured out.
