I am Thankful For…

Happy Thanksgiving! I am so blessed and need to do a better job at remembering that and thanking God for my life and my blessings throughout the year. I absolutely love this time of year and I wish it would extend through the whole year (minus the traffic and the crowds!).

Here is my list this year. Some of them are pretty silly that I am thankful for them but you really have to remember the little things.

  1. My Family & Friends
  2. God
  3. Pancake- she is adorable isn’t she?
  4. My Country & the freedoms we have
  5. Religious Freedom
  6. Toms- because can these shoes be anymore comfortable?
  7. Casual Fridays
  8. A Job
  9. Instagram (I am pretty much addicted)
  10. Diet Vanilla Coke (and Sonic!)
  11. Sleeping in
  12. iPhones

So Very Thankful!

It is no secret that tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the US and I have many things to be thankful for. I have been so incredibly blessed. I have my family, my friends, my pets, a roof over my head and food to eat. I have a car to drive and the freedom afforded to me by living in the United States.

I am so blessed it is really important to remember to be thankful throughout the year and not just at Thanksgiving & Christmas time.

The Blessing Tree & Box

So I really wanted to make a Thanksgiving advent calendar as I have seen so many in the craft link-ups and thought it was a wonderful idea!  I started out with a cookie sheet and cut lots of circles and then I totally switched gears and decided a “Blessing Tree” would look perfect hanging on the pantry door! I made one of the people I babysit for and then I decided my parents had to have one. I really like how it turned out. The back is a great place to store extra magnets, leaves, and past years leaves.

I thought it would be a good idea to keep the leaves each year and just date the back. Then you can look back over them. I think making a fabric pocket or something bigger would be better though, so we shall see!

I then decided to make a Thanksgiving Blessing Box. I thought it could be another way to display what you are thankful for, or what blessings you have received.. I just feel like Thanksgiving always gets overlooked but recognizing blessings and being thankful is very important.
