Thankful Thursdays

Thankful Thursdays

Last week I decided I was going to make a conscious effort to be more thankful (see this post) and I am happy to say I am continuing on this week and posting what I am thankful for.  I’d love for you to join me!  Let me know in the comments what you are thankful for or if you make your own post!

bracelet from KendraI am thankful for my sister and this bracelet she made me.  She isn’t normally crafty or creative and I love that she bought all the supplies to make this bracelet and then that she sent me one!!  I love it!

I went to Oregon for a wedding last weekend.  It was a state I had never been to (yay!) and it was absolutely beautiful.  Also, it was a nice change from the warm, hot weather of south Texas.  I am thankful for the opportunity to travel.

{One Word} JOY

So I have heard about people choosing one word to focus on for the entire year but I really didn’t know there was an entire community surrounding it.  I stumbled upon the website, One Word 365 and I absolutely love the concept.  (There is also My One Word).  If you think about it people make resolutions, goals, etc. (me included) each year and if they were truly honest with themselves they are probably 1. making too many goals, 2. not making them attainable, 3. really have no intention of keeping them.

By choosing one word, just one word it is easy to focus on.  One word gives you so much freedom to choose a word that you need to work on, an action, a character trait.  It is YOUR word.  It isn’t a resolution we all make (loose weight anyone?) but something that is personal to you.  How about choosing on what you want to be instead of things you want to do.

I went back and forth on what I wanted my word to be.  Contentment?  Peace?  Trust?  They are all great words.  But then I found it and it stuck.  Joy.  Choose Joy.  Joy in everyday, Joy in the ordinary, Living my life with pure Joy each and every day.  JOY- a state of happiness.

JOY seriously just jumped out at me but if you  need help picking your word go here.
