Colored Pancakes? Most definitely!!

So I like to try new things when I am babysitting because it makes things a little bit exciting. The girls wanted pancakes for breakfast and when I saw food coloring on the table I knew what I was going to try. Now, W was a little apprehensive at first but once we got started and she found out they tasted the same as regular pancakes she was game!

Now, these are not the best pictures because they were taken on my phone. But I made it into a lesson for W (she is 4) about which colors make new colors. So we made purple, orange and green. We already had blue food coloring so that one required no mixing. :)

We made the purple ones first. Make sure you turn them before they brown because then some of the color will go away.

I even made some polkadots on the orange ones, but that was probably too much food coloring in one area.

The girls loved them! There were lots left over to put in the freezer so they can have them tomorrow :)

Happy Birthday to Jesus

So I decided to have a Happy Birthday Jesus party with the girls that I teach every Sunday at church. I didn’t get pictures of everything I wanted to get pictures of but the ones that I did get (or my sister- I had her photograph too) turned out cute.

We had cupcakes to eat and some more to decorate.

I used this printable from The Computer is my Canvas and made this adorable pretzel, kisses & m&m treat.

We played pin the star on the manger and had an ornament exchange.

The girls had so much fun. To do the exchange we played music and passed a gift around. Whoever ended up with the gift got it. We went around until they were all gone. This worked better than doing Dirty Santa because I know how intense it can get at my age and I didn’t want anyone hurt. Although, some of them did end up switching but that was their choice.

Love these girls. I’ve known them since they were babies. Do you notice a little doggy peaking out here? haha. It was too funny how Izzy just ended up peaking out right at the perfect time!

I ♥ Freezer Paper

So I saw Susan @ Living with Punk’s idea about the “i heart my state shirts” and knew I had to do it for “my kids.” I went to Target (favorite store!) and bought cute tees for A & C and then just regular t-shirts for W & E.

I LOVE how they turned out. You print out your state online & then make a pattern using freezer paper (best invention ever!). Then get your fabric paint and start painting. I also decided to outline the states in another contrasting color.

For C, I also switched out the sleeves on her shirt (very easy to do, I’ll put up a tutorial eventually!) because she is just so upbeat and it fits her personality. Love her facepaint that E did? She also had purple hair. :)

Obviously, a little more “boyish” for W. Instead of the heart I used silver iron-on studs and made a circle. I love how they turned out and plan on making more of them!

It really is the attitude that makes the outfit!

Sometimes orange crocs just tie it all together!
