Happy World Gratitude Day

gratitude definition

Happy World Gratitude Day! I can honestly say I had no idea this was a day until reading my Better Homes & Garden for September.  But I feel like it is a great idea.  There is a lot of benefits to having a gratitude list and listing what we are thankful for. It helps us to realize how much we actually do have to be thankful and grateful for even when things are not going our way.  Somethings I am thankful for- my faith, my family & friends, health, food, shelter, technology, my job, pancake & willow, rainbows, fresh baked cookies, the weekend, stars in the sky, christmas trees, lazy days, Target, the beach, the mountains, birthdays, flip flops, hot bubble baths… I could go on!

What are you thankful for?

Song Inspiration: ‘Here for a Reason’ [Ashes Remain]

So you know how you sometimes hear a song and it just speaks to you?  This song hit me and that it could resonate with a lot of people so I wanted to share the lyrics.

Here for a Reason – Ashes Remain

You’re not forgotten
You’re not alone
You think you’re worthless, but you’re worth it
And He calls you His own
Made in His image
You were made for more
You think there is no plan, that it’s all by chance
But don’t believe that anymore

Every time that you wake up breathing
Every night when you close your eyes
Every day that your heart keeps beating
There’s purpose for your life
So don’t give up
Don’t lay down
Just hold on
Don’t quit now
Every breath that you take has meaning
You are here for a reason

If you spent your days just getting by
When you feel useless, He can use you
And show you what it means to be alive

Every day is a gift from above
Don’t throw it away
When it feels like to much
He’ll be there

Kid Bible Stories: Episode 1

So for Easter our church made a Kid Bible Stories video of the kids telling the story of Matthew 18:21-34 of the Unmerciful Servant.  It was hilarious and has actually gone viral.  I figured I would share it here as it is too funny.

Basically the kids were told the story and asked to retell it to them. They record the kids talking and then the dads acted the story out.  Bored Shorts TV and College Humor have done things like this in the past, which is where the idea came from but never has it been done with Bible stories.  It is really interesting to see how the kids see the stories!

Don’t Forget to Spring Forward

Don’t forget to set your clocks forward!  It begins at 2 Am on March 9th.  I don’t always like the loosing of an extra hour but I quite enjoy it being lighter longer!
