Want to get your silver jewelry spotless?

So my jewelry looked like this:

It has been on my to do list to clean it for quite a while.

I grabbed some aluminum foil, baking soda, boiling water and also some salt (I didn’t include it in the picture :)

I lined a glass tray with aluminum foil, added the boiling water, salt & baking soda (I just guessed on amount, but I think it is 1 teaspoon of each :)  I then added my jewelry.  It started to smell like raw eggs and then the tarnish just comes off.

All clean.  I was pretty impressed with how quickly it worked.  Some of the more tarnished pieces required longer time in the water than others but they all came out clean.  When you are done rinse them in cold water and then you can clean them with a jewelry cloth.

34,000 feet in the air [absolutely random]

So I just had to write a blog post because while I have used wifi on the airplane before I had never written a blog post about it nor written a blogpost on the airplane…… so I really wanted to.

It amazes me how far we have come in what is relatively a short period of time.  Of course, being so connected isn’t always a good thing but when you have work you need to get done and are on an airplane, wifi is extremely convenient.  It also amazes me that people are constantly complaining about slow internet speeds, not having wifi etc. when we have more internet than we know what to do with.  Speeds are super fast compared to just 10 years ago, we have a mini-computer on us constantly and we can check our email basically anywhere.  I think people tend to have an entitlement attitude that since they know it is available it should always be working.  While, yes, it can be inconvenient sometimes when it doesn’t- it isn’t going to kill you.

I think instead of being mad when things don’t work we should be amazed.  I am sitting on an airplane, flying above the clouds, on a computer and writing a blog post.  Most of these things existed even 20 years ago (the computer did but obviously it was completely different! and the airplane :)  I am able to look out at the sunshine as I fly (yes, we fly) in the sky and I can enjoy the Lord’s beautiful earth from a vantage point that I don’t see everyday on the ground.  Pretty amazing if you ask me.  :)

In totally random news I found some pretty cool (or dorky whichever way you look at it) shea infused ladybug socks yesterday that I thought would be great to keep my feet warm on the flight.  Just in case you were wondering, they are working.

Just an Update on Life {Origami Owl}

oh my goodness.  Life has been so busy but lovely!  I am finally a Designer for Origami Owl   I will write more on it later (and maybe give a locket away?!?)  but it is a direct sales company but the products are oh.so.wonderful.  I love, love, love my locket.  I am starting a new blog to update on new products and such here.  (disclaimer- I have not done anything with it yet!  So it is very plain but I will!)

I have also been super busy at my new job at Color Copper.  I LOVE it!  I am an assistant/social media/marketing stuff etc.  It has been amazing and Pancake has been coming to work with me!  She loves it!  She even knows when I leave in the morning and say that I am going to work she knows that it is time to go.  It is adorable!  I actually took a picture of the necklace on top of the copper.  You need to check it out, it is amazing!

Anyway, those are a few updates!  I have some craft projects I need to be posting as well.  It has just been so crazy here with all the new stuff going on!
