Weekend Scripture: 1 Peter 4:8

1 Peter 4:8

Happy Valentine’s Day.  Let us remember 1 Peter 4:8.  It doesn’t mean that we can sin and it will be okay but it does remind us to forgive and extend grace to our brothers and sisters.  It reminds us to not quarrel over little issues but to do everything with love.  We are to love because God loved us first.  Jesus paid the price of our sins by dying on the cross for us, and by doing so we were forgiven of our sins.

I Corinthians 13:13 “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
Colossians 3:14 “But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.”
When we love one another as Christ loves us we are putting others first.  Love is the most important virtue for a Christian to have.

Weekend Scripture: Psalm 138:3

Psalm 138:3

How comforting are these words of David crying out to the Lord?  He cried out and prayed to Him and the Lord answered Him.  The Lord hears us when we cry out to Him.  He doesn’t always remove the burden we are carrying but He gives us strength to continue to trek through whatever we are dealing with.  No matter how great the issue, we know we never carry the burden alone.
