Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US! I have so much to be thankful for this year. I have an amazing family and amazing friends, a great job, a roof over my head, food to eat and oh so much more! I wish you all a wonderful day with those you love and pray that as we officially kick of the holiday season we can remember why we celebrate the way we do and treat each other with love.
Psalm 92:2-3- Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.
1 Thessalonians 5:18- give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
And here is a great article on when & why we started celebrating Thanksgiving. I didn’t know that it wasn’t until President Lincoln made it an official holiday in 1863. So thank you to President Lincoln and a lady named Sarah Josepha Hale for lobbying him to do so.
Now if you will excuse me I am going to sit back, watch the parade and then go eat some delicious food! And I will probably be going shopping…. but not until tomorrow
