Thankful Thursdays *New Party*

So I was thinking last night how we all have so much to be thankful for even when times are tough. I have a tendancy to focus on what is going wrong instead of what is going right. I think it is important to still focus on all we have in our lives that we are thankful for, especially in times when all seems lost. I have found that unless we take a conscious effort to do so, we can easily and quickly forget what it was we were thankful for.

1 Thessalonians 5:18: Be thankful in all circumstances; for this is the will of Christ Jesus for you.

It doesn’t say some circumstances, or only when things are going my way, or only when I feel like it. It says, all. All means all, no exceptions.

I am thankful for…
My family. Without them I wouldn’t be the person I am today. So even though they can bug the heck out of me sometimes, I still love them!

Pool weather. I absolutely love perfect pool weather. Not too hot (which is easy to come by here in Tennessee) and not too cold. Just perfect weather that you want to lie out in the raft in reading a book. Simple.

What are you thankful for?
Feel free to leave a comment or post your own Thankful Thursday on your blog. Also, please let me know if you thinking having a linky is the best way to do it or should I have another way where people write their responses etc.

Merry Christmas

Everything Changed

On a night like this on a broken road
she is far from sleep, she is far from home.
For a baby’s cries tear the still of night
she wonders why

The future was bright and clear, she planned for her wedding day,
her daddy would hold back tears, giving her hand away,
but now all her hope and fear in a cradle lay,
cause a baby came and everything changed.

On a night like this, many years ago
as she held him close, she had come to know
that a mother’s heart could not let him go and she now knows why.

The future was bright and clear
with hope and a promise made
the plight of the world was near, choirs of angels sang.
Heavens exalted King in a manger lay
cause a baby came and everything changed.

When our dreams grow dim and our hearts grow cold
He is never far from our broken souls.

Gloria, our God is with us. Gloria, He has come to save.
Mercy and love now for every generation.
for the Savior came and everything changed.

Gloria, our God is with us. Gloria, He has come to save.
Mercy and love now for every generation.
for the Savior came and everything changed.

So Very Thankful!

It is no secret that tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the US and I have many things to be thankful for. I have been so incredibly blessed. I have my family, my friends, my pets, a roof over my head and food to eat. I have a car to drive and the freedom afforded to me by living in the United States.

I am so blessed it is really important to remember to be thankful throughout the year and not just at Thanksgiving & Christmas time.
