Nursing Cover [baby boy]

This is the second nursing cover that I have made and thankfully it went easier than the first one! Sadly, I do not have photos of that one. Anyway, these are pretty easy to make and are great new mother’s gifts if you know they are going to be nursing. I used this tutorial from Craftaholics Anonymous.  The fabric is from Hobby Lobby.

The part that I have always had the most issues with is the boning.  But, if you make your stitch wide enough to go just at the top and just at the bottom of the boning, it will actually work.  Once I finally made that discovery- the project was so much easier!

Beautiful Baby Bows

Bows Header

I think making headbands for kids is so much fun.  They are a quick craft you can knock out and you feel accomplished instead of one that can take days.  If I felt comfortable wearing the headbands, I probably would wear them as well!  I am sure y’all know how to make them but here are my steps anyway….

I purchased elastic at JoAnn’s.  I love that they now have the elastic as I used to have to purchase it online.  I picked a cute ruffly one in white and then one in yellow.  I purchased the pink crochet flower as well, but you could easily make that.  I sewed it onto a felt backing and then onto the ribbon.

I then made the hounds tooth one.

Supplies: I just randomly cut the circles for the flowers.  I cut four of them.  I later on (not in this picture) cut smaller flowers to give it another layer.

First fold the circle in half

Then fold it in half again.  This is what you are going to sew.

Sew it onto your felt.  Some people use a hot glue gun but I don’t like how the hot glue gun can leave bumps and felt the sewing made it more secure.

Once you have all four petals sewn on it will look like this.  Now you could leave it like this, sew the button in the middle and be done but I wanted to add another layer of petals.  You do the exact same thing.  I made these circles a little smaller than the originals.

Valentine’s Features

So I am seriously lacking motivation (and time…cry) to make some Valentine’s day crafts but some fabulous ones were linked up to Handmade Tuesdays this week.

I love this little ruffled onsie from School Time Snippets. It is absolutely adorable and would look just as precious on a t-shirt.

I love these Valentine’s day suckers from Simply Designing. Now, I don’t have any candy canes lying around but I wish I did! Maybe I can find some in a clearance bin somewhere? Just a thought :)

These candy heart look-a-likes are made from drop clothes and filled with lavender from Make It, Give It. This is one I think I need to find time to make as I think it would be adorable to give these out!

p.s. if you have been featured make sure to go grab a button from my button page

Some family necklaces

So my friend Claire is probably one of my best customers. I love what she thinks up for necklaces and she came up with the above necklace for her sister’s birthday. Her sister has three kids, Isabella, AJ and Adalynn. Instead of having all three of the kid’s birthstones Claire had her sister’s birthstone (amethyst) attached to the necklace. I just love how it dangles and cannot wait to hear how Sarah loves it!! (Claire reads the blog sometimes, but I don’t think Sarah does! Which in this instance is a good thing :)

Claire also used to be a nanny for an adorable little girl named Harper. She is still in touch with them and Harper’s mom just had a new baby named Helen Jane so Claire wanted a necklace for them too. I made them both the same (minus the names of course:) and loved how they turned out! Although, instead of the birthstone for this one Claire wanted the pearl. I love the look of the pearl!
