34,000 feet in the air [absolutely random]

So I just had to write a blog post because while I have used wifi on the airplane before I had never written a blog post about it nor written a blogpost on the airplane…… so I really wanted to.

It amazes me how far we have come in what is relatively a short period of time.  Of course, being so connected isn’t always a good thing but when you have work you need to get done and are on an airplane, wifi is extremely convenient.  It also amazes me that people are constantly complaining about slow internet speeds, not having wifi etc. when we have more internet than we know what to do with.  Speeds are super fast compared to just 10 years ago, we have a mini-computer on us constantly and we can check our email basically anywhere.  I think people tend to have an entitlement attitude that since they know it is available it should always be working.  While, yes, it can be inconvenient sometimes when it doesn’t- it isn’t going to kill you.

I think instead of being mad when things don’t work we should be amazed.  I am sitting on an airplane, flying above the clouds, on a computer and writing a blog post.  Most of these things existed even 20 years ago (the computer did but obviously it was completely different! and the airplane :)  I am able to look out at the sunshine as I fly (yes, we fly) in the sky and I can enjoy the Lord’s beautiful earth from a vantage point that I don’t see everyday on the ground.  Pretty amazing if you ask me.  :)

In totally random news I found some pretty cool (or dorky whichever way you look at it) shea infused ladybug socks yesterday that I thought would be great to keep my feet warm on the flight.  Just in case you were wondering, they are working.

Sometimes it feels like…

You can never get everything you want to do done. I know I am not the only one who feels this way but I do not like feeling like this. I think a blog re-do has been on my schedule for oh forever! And please don’t get me started on how many crafts I have planned to do for ages. It makes me sad.

If only there were more hours in the day to do the things I actually want to do instead of the things I only do because I have do, like work. Just kidding :) (on the work thing, not the hours thing!)

Cannot believe I did this!

Guess what I did this past week? I locked my keys in my car! I have NEVER done that before! I was super rushed to get out of work and then get to a meeting at church that I just shut my bag (and everything in it) in my trunk…. yeah, my keys were in the pocket. I sat there for a while and then went and asked the guys in shipping if they had any idea what I should do. They asked if I had AAA, how I forgot that I had that I do not know. I called my sister frantic for the number and our account number (as my card was locked in the trunk). I called AAA and they said it would be between now and two (yes TWO) hours from now! We pay for the PREMIUM membership. What good is the membership if it will take two hours. My other issue? The time they could come would be 45 minutes past when my meeting started.

Thank goodness for the nice AAA guy that he came within 25 minutes. I did find out that if he just opened my door from the inside and then tried to pop my trunk the car would lock up and I would not be able to go anyway. I informed him that would be no problem as I would just pop the seat down and climb in through the trunk… yes, I seriously decided that is what I would do.

So he proceeded to open the door, alarm blaring, I climbed in through the seat in the dark trunk (in a skirt), found the keys in the pocket, popped the trunk and proceeded to jump out. He could honestly say he had never seen that before. I like to make people’s days. :)
