MudLOVE Bracelets

So have you heard of MudLOVE Pottery? I hadn’t until the other day. I actually do not remember how I stumbled upon the site but took forever choosing which ones I was going to order. For $5 you receive a handmade pottery bracelet and for every $5 you spend you provide someone in Africa clean water for ONE YEAR!

Not only are they absolutely adorable, I feel good knowing I am helping provide clean water to people who otherwise would not receive it. They were my ‘get better’ gift for myself.

On a surgery note, it has been getting worse. I am itching like crazy (from the codeine I think) and swallowing anything (liquids included) is not pleasant. I got some baby food from the store last night and at least that switches the diet up from popsicles and pudding. :) My sleep has been completely off and I normally wake up coughing or scared of choking but even with all of this I know I am still going to be happy I did this.

I will say I am having the animals to keep me company. Izzy (the cat) has been keeping me lots of company in addition to Pancake (not pictured) and Chloe (big dog).  Currently Pancake & I are watching Netflix.  I think I’ll have gone through every show by the time this is over!

Hope you are having a Happy Sunday!

This post is not sponsored and is entirely my opinion. I received the bracelets in the mail today and wanted to share them,

Surgery

So I had surgery this morning to remove my tonsils & adenoids. It is the end of about four months of sore throats/strep/infections etc. It was outpatient and they are really efficient there (I have been there before when I had knee surgery). Now I knew (and know) this was going to be no walk in the park. I know how painful it is to have them out as an adult & the doctor told me it would be horrible for a good 7 days and then I will make a turn for the better. Apparently days 3-4 are the worst, yeah not looking forward to it. Right now I cannot talk, major sore throat, horrible swallowing and major headache. I am not looking forward to it getting worse!!

I ended up getting their special pre-op room (luck of the draw) with a comfy chair. That was really nice. Then I actually remember going into the operating room, but then I was out very soon after and in recovery. At home Pancake spent some time with me snuggled up and I have spent the entire day in my room eating popsicles, pudding and gatorade. I have gone through a lot of shows on Netflix and I have barely slept. It is so painful to sleep, so hopefully I will just crash of exhaustion.

Oddly it was discovered that I did not have adenoids. I either wasn’t born with them or my tonsils destroyed them, haha. The surgeon actually was convinced I had them out and my mom had to say no, she never has. Haha. He also told her that it was a good thing they came out because they were horrible, infected and just totally gone. So, well I am not looking forward to the pain that is probably coming (I pray it isn’t!), in the long run it will be worth it.

Please pray for a quick (and as painless as possible) recovery. Thanks :)

Pancake snuggled with me most of the day.

My sister brought me a lion stuffed animal in an adorable Minnie Mouse bag. It was really sweet.

Kendra also brought me a Fancy Nancy coloring book and glitter crayons. Fun stuff!

2012 Goals

I feel like by calling them goals instead of resolutions they are more attainable.  It is almost as if we call something a resolution we are adding another hurdle while calling them goals takes one away.  Who knows, maybe that is just my thinking…

Anyway, my 2012 goals are…

  • Run 365 miles.  By giving this goal an actual value I am ensuring more of a success than if I had just said, run more.

  • Pay off my credit card and make a dent in my student loan payments.

  • Blog more.  Now, I know I am not giving this one a numerical value like I did with running but I feel like since starting the job I have not been blogging as much and I want to change that.  I need to find a system and stick with it.

  • Find a good balance.  As I mentioned above, going from lots of part time jobs to a full time job plays with how you handle your life and how you find a balance for it.  I am still working on this one.

  • Do at least one creative thing each week.  It is amazing how when I find the time to make things I can relax more.

  • Live with more intention, or purpose.  I don’t like to just drift through things, day by day.  How boring is that?

  • Play outside

  • Spend less, Give more

  • Spend time with God each and every day.  Real meaningful time, not just quickly reading a devotional or quick prayer time.

  • Read one book a month.  Reading is so important and how often I toss it aside because something else calls my attention.

  • Find adventure.

Now I realize some of these are not numerical at all and cannot really be tracked but by writing them down I am stating that they are things I want to work on.  Some of them are not things that can even be counted or categorized and that is okay with me.
